The workers of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday staged a protest against right-wing Bjarang Dal for trying to manhandle member legislative council (MLC) from PDP FirdousTak outside Press Club Jammu on Friday.
The agitating workers, accompanied by senior leaders, staged a sit-in and demanded strict action against the activists of Bajrang Dal, who attacked the MLC. “The authorities need to take stern action against the activists. If they fail do so, we will intensify our agitation and launch a state-wide protest,” the protesters said.
The protesters pinpointed the role of the communal forces, alleging that they are hell bent on dividing the masses. They also appealed to the Governor SP Malik to take strong note of the attack.
During the protest, the PDP workers raised anti-Bajrang Dal slogans and also burnt an effigy of the right-wing organization.
