On the call of Valley based Joint Resistance Leadership, acomplete shutdown was observed in two tehsils of Ramban district-Banihal andKhari-against the NIA raids and widespread arrests of Jamaat-e-Islami activistsacross Kashmir province.
In order to express their resentment against the governmentaction, people of Banihal and Khari kept their shops and businesses closed,while transport also remained off the road during the day.
The sub-divisional administration, Banihal had madeelaborate security arraignments for averting any law and order relatedsituation during the Bandh.
The Bandh remained peaceful at both the places as there wasno report of any untoward incident from either tehsil of Ramban district duringthe day.
