Bhaderwah recorded the lowest temperature of minus seven degree Celsius as a cold wave swept over the Chenab valley, adding to the woes of residents.

Water and drainage system has frozen because of the cold wave while power supply has been disrupted by the snowfall, said a resident.

Meanwhile, the weatherman has predicted another spell of rain and snowfall in the region.

"We are in the middle of exceptionally severe winters as it has peaked with temperature dipping to all time low at minus 7 resulting in frozen water pipes and dangerously slippery roads to maneuver on," said SDM Bhadarwah Mohd Anwar Banday.

"We have already issued an advisory to the people especially residing on slopes to remain indoors for some time till the intensity of cold wave subsides," he added.
