Body of trucker buried under landslide on Kashmir highway recovered after nine days

The body of one of the three truckers missing after a landslide hit the Srinagar-Jammu highway was recovered on the ninth day of rescue operation on Wednesday.

An official told Greater Kashmir that the body of Manjeet Singh, who was reportedly driver of the ill-fated vehicle which came under the landslide on November 5 at Battery Cheshma, was recovered today.

   

He said that Singh, according to his relatives, was the driver of the apple-laden truck.

The official said that searches are on to locate two more missing persons also feared buried under the landslide.

He said that searches are going on at the landslide site since Nov 7.
