Chenab Valley candidates demand change of JKCET Center

Candidates of Chenab Valley, who have earlier opted to appear in Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) in Kashmir, are now demanding change of centre in view of disturbance in Valley.

Candidates of Chenab Valley, who have earlier opted to appear in Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) in Kashmir, are now demanding change of centre in view of disturbance in Valley.

They said that dozens of candidates of all the three districts (Doda, Kishtwar & Ramban), instead of Jammu opted to appear in JKCET exams in Kashmir Valley at the time of filing their forms.

Parents of the aspirants are worried about the future of their children as according to them they already missed National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) which was held on 24th of this month.

"My daughter Rimsha has been toiling hard since last more than one year to crack the competitive exams and was quite confident to make NEET, but we were not allowed to enter the valley and were stopped at Jawahar tunnel on 23rd of July," said Dr Tariq Pervaiz of Mohallah Faridya ,Doda.

"Administration made all the arrangements for Valley Students to ensure their participation in the competitive exam (NEET) but they never gave a damn about scores of candidates from Chenab Valley. Now my daughter is in state of shock and my humble request to the concerned authorities is to at least shift the venue of Chenab Valley Students to Jammu," he added.

Similar concern and apprehensions were raised by other students who missed NEET, now these students who opted for Kashmir Center have pined all their hopes on competitive authority that they will shift the center of Chenab Valley Students to Jammu.

"My grandparents reside in Srinagar, that is why I opted Kashmir Center for NEET and JKCET. I alongwith my 10 classmates have missed NEET and now we can't afford to miss JKCET, which is our last hope. Our request to the competent authority is change for examination centre  to Jammu for the sake of our future," said an aspirant Zuhaib Rangrez from Munshi Mohallah Doda. "I didn't even join the college as I was preparing hard for NEET and JKCET. If the venue of JKCET is not shifted to Jammu, my career will be finished. So I plead before the concerned authorities with folded hands to please change the   center for students of Chenab Valley to Jammu on humanitarian grounds," said another candidate Jahanzaib s/o Afzal Beig from Nagri.
