Former Naib Tehsildar Aziz Mohammad Butt, a native of village Poochal in Kishtwar along with trade unionist Khurshid Ahmed today joined National Conference in presence of party senior leader and provincial secretary Qazi Jalal ud Din, a statement said. 

Former MoS Home and MLC from Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloowas present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Qazi slammed PDP-BJP government for their "failure to mitigate the problems of the people in Kishtwar. 

"The coalition government has failed to carry forward the developmental activities in Kishtwar which was started during National Conference government. 

"The employees of lower class are being harassed not only by the government but also by the party workers of ruling PDP and BJP," he said, while calling for an end to this atmosphere.

Kichloo welcomed the new entrance in the party fold. He said that NC "without any caste, colour and creed, works for equitable development of the state which include all the three regions as well as sub regions of the state."

He said that people particularly the youth are fed up with the present dispensation and termed PDP-BJP coalition government as "failure on public front."

He said that corruption has taken the centre stage in PDP-BJP government, adding that the unemployed youth are the worst victims under present PDP-BJP government. 

He said the state government even "fails to start construction on power projects in Kishtwar district.

He assured the youth that party will not allow the execution of any power project in Kishtwar district without safeguarding the rights of project affected families. 

He warned the government and administration over "forcing the project-hit families to accept the less compensation."

He termed the recent transfer of GRS in rural development department as "autocratic" and added that poor employees with monthly salary of less than Rs 6000 "are being harassed by transferring them from one block to another that too in violation of MGNREGA guidelines."

He demanded regularization of all GRS, casual workers, CP workers and adhoc employees.

Among the prominent who were present on this occasion include Wali Mohammad Giri, Imtiyaz  Ahmed Zarger, Farooq Butt, Shabir Ahmed Kamal, Rajinder Sen, Asif Qazi, Mushtaq Najjar, Brij Nath Dhar, Mohammad Amin Shah, Abdul Majid Shah, Sajjad Khan and others.
