With an aim to create awareness among the common masses to save and educate the girl child, district development commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, Monday flagged off ‘Beti Express’ under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign from New DC Office Complex.
The Beti Express is a van equipped with a sound system, in which audio clips on women empowerment, besides announcements in local language will be played, in order to generate awareness among the masses.
ADDC Kishtwar, Imam Din, CPO Kishtwar, Yasir L A Balwan, SDM Paddar, Rishi Sharma, ACD Kishtwar, Anil Chandail, nodal officer BBBP, Anoop Kumar, DPO Kishtwar, Sunil Bhutyal, and ARTO Kishtwar, Abhay Indu Sharma were also present on the occasion.
While flagging off the van, the DDC hoped that these sensitization and awareness programmes under BBBP will have a positive effect on empowerment of the girl child and change the mindset of the society.
