Dilapidated, blocked roads irk Ramban residents

As several link roads across Ramban district remain either dilapidated or blocked due to the recent inclement weather, the residents continue to suffer.

The inhabitants of far-flung areas in Khari, Ramsu, Ukhral, Gool, Ramban and Batote, alleged, “We are continuously suffering due to the bad conditions of roads. Most of the roads lie dilapidated, while many continue to remain blocked. There are pot holes and mud patches on several roads, making it highly cumbersome and difficult to commute.”

A number of public transporters claimed that they have stopped plying their vehicles on a number of routes, seeing the condition of the roads.

“We are forced to walk as the roads are non-motorable. Elderly people, children, women and patients suffer the most,” the residents claimed.

The residents of Mahu, Mangit, Sumber, Kabi, Dharam, Pogal, Paristan, Neel, Rajgagh and Sanasar, while talking to Greater Kashmir, said that they have informed the concerned authorities a number of times, but nothing has been done.
