Driver of oil tanker dies in accident

 Driver of an oil tanker died on Tuesday after the vehicle he was driving met an accident in Ramsu.

Police said the vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down the Bislari Nullah near Ramsu Tuesday morning.

   

Police said the tanker bearing registration number JK02AP-0256 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu. “The vehicle went out of control of the driver near Ramsu and rolled 200 feet down the Bislari Nullah.”

“The driver sustained grievous injuries. He was shifted to PHC Ramsu where doctors declared him brought dead,” police said.

Police identified the deceased as Farooq Ahmed son of Mohammad Ishaq of Mander Poonch.

Source said due to traffic jam near police station Ramsu on Tuesday morning, he was reversing his vehicle to give way to other vehicles coming from opposite direction. “During the process he lost control over the vehicle which rolled down the Nullah.”

A case FIR 102 under section 304-A/279 RPC has been registered at Police Station Ramsu, police said.
