Earthquake of 3.6 magnitude jolts Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, Mar 4: An earthquake of 3.6 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted Bhaderwah this evening.

Reports said the earthquake occurred at 9.17 PM triggering panic among residents.

   

The earthquake was felt at 9.17PM and was followed by four after-shocks of very low intensity. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said, adding the epicentre of the earthquake was 29 kms northwest of Bhaderwah town at a depth of 10km kms.

The latitude of the earthquake was 33.040 N while longitude was measured at 75.830E. The tremor was also felt in adjoining Gandoh area of Doda district adjoining Bhaderwah valley.

Officials said there were no reports so far of any loss of life or damage to property.
