Banihal , November 14: A man and his minor daughter were killed while his wife was injured after a truck rammed into their private car on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
An official said that a truck heading towards Kashmir hit several vehicles, including a car and two passenger cabs coming from the opposite direction in Makarkoot area, 17 kilometres from Banihal.
He said that a private car bearing registration number JK14E/ 8524 in which a Sikh family from south Kashmir’s Tral was travelling towards Jammu was badly damaged in the accident.
The driver of the car and his minor daughter died on the spot while his wife suffered injuries following which she was shifted to PHC Ramsoo for treatment.
The official said that the woman along with another injured was shifted to SDH Banihal for specialized treatment.
Reports said that the mishap took place after the truck driver lost control after suffering a brake failure.
