The plains of Kishtwar district witnessed incessant rains, while the hilly regions recorded fresh snowfall on Saturday. The recently opened Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road also recorded a fresh spell of snowfall.
As per sources, due to fresh snowfall at Sinthan Top, some vehicles en route to Srinagar from Kishtwar were trapped in the snow. “Around six vehicles with 18 passengers were trapped at the second curve on this side of Sinthan Top,” the police said.
After receiving the news of the trapped vehicles, a police team comprising of SHO Police Station Chatroo Inspector Mohd Bashir, on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary, reached the spot with 2 JCBs and managed to clear the road and rescue the stranded passengers.
