Three college girls from Kashmir have returned Rs 30000 they found on a roadside in Kishtwar district of Jammu.

The girls – Samiksha Sharma, Iqra Tabassum and Nadia Parvez – all students of Degree College Kishtwar – had found Rs 30000 on the side of a road on Tuesday evening near the college.

Instead of taking money home, they waited at the spot for two hours for the owner to return. But no one came forward.

After a long search, they finally found the owner – a Sasastra Seema Bal Mess Commander Basudev Malik who had lost the money when he travelled to GDC Kishtwar.

Thanking the girls, Malik said: "Humanity is still alive in our young generation."

He also rewarded the students with 1000 rupees each. "This is only a token of love for their honesty and dedication," he said.
