High velocity winds snap power supply in Ramban

The power supply in many areas of district Ramban was snapped yesterday evening due to high velocity winds causing damages to the electric poles and transmission lines.

The power supply in many areas has been restored, but in far off areas, it is yet to be restored.

As a precautionary measure in view of the strong winds, the Power Development Department (PDD) was forced to snap power supply for ensuring safety of life and property of the people, an official said.

He said that the power supply was however, restored on Friday afternoon in many areas of the district after some repair repairs.

In far off areas of Ramban, the power supply is yet to be restored. Meanwhile, the high velocity winds followed by rains threw normal life out of gear in the district. The water supply in the district headquarter town Ramban also remained affected on Friday primarily due to power failure.
