In wait of salary since 6 months, PHE employees attempt self-immolation

Facing hardships due to failure of the government to release their salaries since the last more than 6 months, two casual laborers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department today attempted self-immolation during a protest demonstration at Doda.

The protesting casual laborers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) sprinkled petrol and tried to commit suicide. They were, however, timely saved by their fellows thus averting a major tragedy.  

   

The two injured casual laborers were immediately shifted to Doda Hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger.

The CP workers and daily wagers working in Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, Doda, were protesting to highlight their demands the main being release of pending salaries.

The protesting employees of PHE said that they are facing lot of difficulties as they have not been paid wages since the last 6 months.

The protesting employees said that they are at the verge of starvation and it has become difficult for them to feed their families and meet their daily needs.  

The daily wagers also took out a protest rally in Doda raising slogans in support of their demands. 

The protesting workers criticized the concerned authorities for not releasing their wages since the last six months.
