All Kashmir bound load carriers and passenger vehicles were today disallowed by the police beyond Chanderkote and Ramban in view of adverse security situation in Kashmir valley.
Scores of passenger vehicles including private cars were stopped by the police assisted by CRPF at Chanderkote and Ramban even as no vehicles were allowed beyond police Nakas.
On the other hand shops and business establishments in the highway town of Banihal remained shut for the second consecutive day today on the call given by valley based resistance leaders.
Markets, business establishments, private institutions and other offices remained closed on the call of Huriyat leaders endorsed by local shopkeeper association and religious leaders.
It is pertinent to mention here that Banihal town including its adjoining areas remained shut on various occasions on the call given by resistance leaders after the death of HM commander Bhuran Wani.
District administration and police had made elaborate security arrangements for thwarting any untoward incident. For this purpose, heavy deployment of Police, CRPF and army was made in different sensitive areas.
Other areas of the district including Batote, district headquarter town Ramban and Gool remained unaffected where all markets remained open as usual.
