Residents of Ramban district staged a massive protest here on Tuesday against the kidnapping, rape and murder of 8-year old Bakarwal girl and Police manhandling the members of a particular community in Kathua district.
Protesters assembled outside the office of Deputy Commissioners at Ramban this morning and staged a sit in. They were raising slogans against state government and Kathua Police.
The protestors handed over a written memorandum to DC for onward submission to Chief Minister. They demanded the investigation into abduction, rape and murder of the minor girl should be handed over to independent agency. They alleged that Kathua Police are hand in glove with criminals involved in this heinous crime.
