Kishtwar observes bandh against killings

The members of a particular community across District Kishtwar today observed shutdown to lodge protest against the civillian killings in Kashmir.

The members of a particular community across District Kishtwar today observed shutdown to lodge protest against the civillian killings in Kashmir. 

The shutdown call was given by Islami Markazi Majlise Shaura Kishtwar which was announced by Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo. 

The schools, colleges, shops and other business establishments remained closed in support of tweh bandh call.

Imam, Jamia Masjid, Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kitchloo along with supporters staged a sit-in at Bus Stand Kishtwar in protest against the civilian killings in Kashmir.

 His supporters were carrying placards with slogans like and "Go-India-Go Back, "Stop Genocide", and "Indian Media Stop Propaganda Against J&K".

However, sources said that there was no violence or any untoward incident during the shutdown. 

The protesters said that the PDP-BJP government has lost its credibility as it has not been able to safeguard the people. 

While talking to Greater Kashmir, Imam Masjid Bunistan, Qari Manzoor said that the peaceful protest is against the state and central government over the civilian killings in Kishtwar. He said that Indian Government is using pellet guns on innocent Kashmiri people  which is inhumane.
