Several areas of Kishtwar, including the town, are facing acute acute shortage of drinking water in the holy month of Ramadan, local residents said on Wednesday.

These areas include Pochhal, Hatta, Hidyal and Cherhar.

Locals said the district administration failed to restore water supply in these areas, causing inconvenience to them.

"It has been over two months since taps are running dry but nobody is paying any heed. We many times approached the concerned authorities but to no avail," villagers of Cherhar said.

Areas like Lachkhazana, Link Road, Gudhali are facing continuous water scarcity for the past many months.
