Kishtwar youth criticize contractor company for ignoring locals in Pakal Dul Power Project

A core group of unemployed youth of District Kishtwar today criticized the management of a contractor company for ignoring the locals in providing jobs in Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project.

In a meeting held today, the youth said that the the contractor company has circulated a list of various categories of posts for Pakal Dul Power Project with requisite qualification as diploma in ITI with 7 years experience.

   

This qualification is such that hardly any local youth can qualify for various posts, the youth said.

They said that the computer training institutes in Kishtwar were opened in 2012 and how an applicant can have 7 years and above experience in computer applications.

They informed that as per the circular issued by the contractor company, the applications can be submitted in the office of district employment exchange office.

“Here we would like to ask the district administration weather this is government job?” they asked.

As per the circular, the youth said that all the appointees shall be on daily wage basis and on outsource basis (labour supply).

The core group members demanded roll back of the so that maximum local youth could get jobs in the project.

The core group members also threatened to launch agitation in case the notification was not revoked.

Joginder Bhandari, Rinku Sen, Anil Sharma, Gh. Hussain Gannie, Sardar Satpal Singh, Mohd Ashraf Gannie, Ranjeet Sharma, Shanker Singh Wazir, Surjeet Badyal, Sanjay Bhagat, Jaffar Butt, Tariq Patri, Farooq Lone , Rajinder Singh and Ajay Sharma attended the meeting.
