The Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a man and recovered 200-gram hashish from his possession, here in Ramban town.
A police officer said, “During routine patrolling in Khowbagh area of Ramban town, a man, on seeing the cops, tried to flee. Sensing something suspicious, the alert cops chased him down. While searching the man, 200-gram of charas (hashish) was recovered.”
The arrested man has been identified as Hari Ram, the officer said, adding, “We have launched an investigation to find the supplier. More arrests cannot be ruled out.”
The arrest and recovery was made by a team from Ramban police station, led by station house officer Vijay Kotwal.
