Man arrested under PSA

Jammu and Kashmir police Saturday claimed to have arrested a man for “unlawful activities” under Public Safety Act (PSA), here in Ramban.

Station house officer, Banihal, Aijaz Wani, told GreaterKashmir: “A habitual narcotic smuggler and history-sheeter, identified as BaharAhmed Dar, was booked on Saturday under the Public Safety Act. He is an accusedin six different FIRs.”

   

“Dar is also on the forefront of anti-national activitiesand often leads anti national processions, rallies and protests in Banihaltown,” the officer said.

“Dar has not deterred for criminal activities and thus,slapping PSA on him became essential,” SHO Wani said, adding that policeprepared a dossier and submitted it to the district magistrate, who issued theorder.

The order was executed by a team from Banihal policestation. Dar was arrested and has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, theofficer said.
