Mobile Internet restored in Kishtwar after 10 days

Mobile Internet service was restored in Kishtwar district on Saturday after remaining suspended for 10 days.

The service was suspended to prevent rumour-mongering in the wake of killing of BJP state secretary Anil Parrihar and his elder brother by unknown gunmen on November 1. The killings triggered protests in the Jammu region.

District Magistrate Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana, said that the Internet service was restored in the district without getting his permission.

Governor’s admin behaving like a proverbial Ostrich: PDP

Srinagar, Nov 10: Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday accused the Governor administration of leaving the already aggrieved fruit growers of Kashmir in lurch, stating that the tall claims of mitigation of losses is proving a mere hoax on the ground.

In a statement here, PDP General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura stated that the administration is yet to assess the losses incurred by the fruit growers in Kashmir due to the recent snowfall and that in particular a plethora of areas in district Budgam are yet to be visited by the helmsmen so that to take stock of the situation and make assessment of the losses caused to orchards.

Hanjura added that the Governor administration is behaving like a proverbial ostrich having a meager knowledge about the damage caused to the orchards and yet making tall claims of mitigating the losses incurred by the fruit growers.
