Healthcare in Ramban district has been hit due to the 72 hour strike called by the employees of National Rural Health Mission.

Patients and their attendants are facing the brunt of the strike, district hospital sub district hospitals, community health centers and even medical aid centers have become defunct due to the strike. 

Indoor patients and other patients coming for treatment to various government hospitals of the district are facing problems as according to them majority of the doctors employed by the health department have been engaged under NRHM scheme.

NRHM employees are demanding regularization of their services and framing a proper job policy and have called 72 hours state wide strike.

Patients complain that we are facing problems as causality department of the hospitals has been locked whereas regular doctors who are less in number are managing the show throughout the district.

District President of NRHM Muhammad Amin Itoo said, "I am a government employee but to my department and officers I am Mr. nobody as the NRHM staff is yet to get the status as of permanent government employees." 

Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Ramaban Dr Dhramvir Singh while admitting the problems faced by the patients said, "I am utilizing the services of four permanent doctors posted in district hospital to cope up with the situation which has arisen due to the strike of NRHM staff."
