One dead, five injured after two vehicles collide on Kashmir highway

One person died and five others were injured after a car and a passenger cab suffered a collision in Banihal area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

Reports said a private car and a passenger cab collided near Gund Tethar Banihal on Srinagar-Jammu highway, resulting into death of one person and injuries to several others.

   

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Abdullah, a resident of Kishtwar.

An official said the accident took place due to slippery road condition, adding that the injured were taken to a hospital for treatment.

In another accident, a bus carrying ITBP soldiers rolled down into a gorge near Khuni Nallah on the highway earlier today, leaving a soldier dead and 34 injured.
