A strong resentment is brewing among the residents of Kishtwar over blockade of a vital road by PHE tankers for filling the water from a source in the heart of the town.
Eyewitnesses told to Greater Kashmir that on a routine heavy tankers block the road leading to NHPC and Kendiriya Vidyalaya School Kishtwar. These tankers occupy major part of the road and become a threat for the commuters and motorists", they informed.
Students of KV and residents of Bus stand to Semna Colony area are the main sufferers as parking of the tankers create a mess on the road, locals said.
The local residents warned that the onus would lie on PHE authorities if any untoward incident take place at the vulnerable spot .
When Greater Kashmir contacted District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan, he admitted that the water filling station is dangerous. He assured to talk to Executive Engineer PHE regarding shifting of water tanker filling point.
