An Assistant Sub-Inspector of J&K Police was arrested on Saturday after a vedio went viral on social in which he was purportedly seen taking bribe from some persons in the premises of police station Kishtwar.
In the video the policeofficer is seen demanding and accepting bribe. “In this regard, an FIR (No.38/2020) has been registered against the accused under section 161 IPC andsection 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act,” said a senior police official.
He said the accused hasbeen formally arrested and placed under suspension. “A departmental enquiry hasalso been initiated against him,” the official said.
