Principal GHS Sounder suspended, salaries of 18 teachers withheld

After receiving several complaints from the general public of Sounder Dacchan regarding the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Sounder, District Development Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana on Saturday suspended him with immediate effect.

After receiving several complaints from the general public of Sounder Dacchan regarding the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Sounder, District Development Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana on Saturday suspended him with immediate effect. 

 According to reports, the Principal Vidya Dhar had not joined duties after the winter vacations. "Chief Education Officer Kishtwar is hereby designated as enquiry officer and shall conduct an in-depth enquiry into the matter. He shall submit the report to this office by or before April 10," the order issued by the DDC read.

Meanwhile, the DDC directed the CEO to withhold the salaries of 18 teachers who have been found absent from their duties without any valid reason. "It has come to notice of the undersigned that the teaching staff of HS Keshwan, MS Nagri and MS Bhagran Hill was found absent from duties on March 30 and 31 respectively and had left the students of the school at God's mercy," the order of CEO Kishtwar read.

Taking cognizance of DDC's directions, as the DDC received several phone calls regarding the absenteeism of teaching staff in these government schools, the CEO ordered the withholding of the salaries of the teachers with immediate effect.

The teachers found absent include Ghulam Mohammedd Kripak, Shafiqa Banoo, Beni Parshad, Shahnawaz and Rafiya Kulsum from HS Keshwan, Satwir Sharma, Naresh Kumar, Amarjeet Singh, Dalbir Singh, Mansoor Ahmed, Shafiya Banoo, Nazia Banoo, Irshad Ahmed Kripak and Meena Kumari of MS Nagri and Mohammed Shafi, Poonam Bloria, Shafia Kousar and Nirdosh Kant of MS Bhagran Hill.

 "In view of the unauthorized absence of the officials from their legitimate duty, salary of these officials has been ordered to be kept withheld with immediate effect and all of the absentee teachers have been directed to explain the cause of absence within three days, failing which action warranted under rules shall be initiated against them," CEO Ajeet Kumar said.
