Inquiry committee members led by Transport Commissioner, J&K, Dr SP Vaid visited accident site at KelaMorh in Ramban district on Saturday.
The inquiry committee has been constituted to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the October 6 tragic accident near KelaMorh on Srinagar-Jammu highway in which 22 commuters were killed.
The committee comprises of Deputy Commissioner RambanShowkatAijazBhat, DC UdhampurRavinder Kumar, SSP Ramban Anita Sharma, SSP Traffic Shakti Pathak , Regional Transport Officer Jammu DeeprajKanithia and other officers. The committee has been asked to investigate the reasons for the accident to fix the responsibility, if any, on official and measures to be taken to prevent recurrence of such accidents on the highway especially in Doda and Kishtwar districts.
The committee members also visited the district hospital, Ramban and reviewed the emergency medical facilities available in hospital for the accident victims and passed necessary directions to CMO Ramban.
