Urging state government to ensure equal development of the state's all regions and areas, Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori has demanded that the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) to be establish in Jammu region should be setup in Chenab Valley and Pirpanjal areas.
Saroori, according to a party statement, said while meeting with the people at Kuriya, Dadpeth, Mugalmaidan, Chatroo and Chingam areas of sub-division Chatroo. Saroori said that while establishing any institution (IIT, IIM) in Jammu province the interests of Pirpanjal and Chenab regions should not be ignored as usual. "People of Chenab and Pirpanjal regions have been deprived and ignored by PDP-BJP coalition government and the government must establish one of these two institutions each in Chenab and Pirpanjal regions," he said.
Saroori alleged that PDP-BJP government was unable to fulfill their promises to the people of the state. "Mehbooba Mufti should apologise to Kashmiris, Chenab and Pirpanjal regions for not being able to fulfill her promises which she has made with people and had argued that BJP being in power at the Centre can accommodate grievances of Jammu and Kashmir at developmental front much better," Saroori said and added that "PDP leaders were praising Narender Modi and promising stars and moons from the sky for the state, but now BJP is not only letting Mufti down but by making Kashmiris and Chenab valley people to beg for everything, the union government stands exposed," he said.
MLA Inderwal appealed all political, social, trade, and other organizations to form a joint strategy to force government to establish IIT and IIM in Chenab and Pirpanjal regions. Congress Party is committed for equitable development of all the three region, Congress Party treats people in all the regions equally and would continue to fight for equitable development of regions and the resolution of issues confronting people in the State, Saroori said.
