Snowfall brightens up winter tourism prospects in Bhadarwah

Tourism authorities believe fresh snowfall in Bhadarwah Valley could translate into more number of tourist arrivals this season compared to last year.

High altitude tourist destinations of Bhadarwah, including Padri, Guldanda and Jai Ghati, received snowfall since last night.

A sizeable number of tourists have already started flocking Padri and Guldanda meadows located along the interstate Bhaderwah-Chamba and Bhadarwah-Bani-Basoli roads.

“Fresh snowfall is a good omen for tourism industry. Tourist can enjoy these places and also reach there easily because all roads leading to these meadows are open for traffic. We hope that like summer this year, we will break the earlier record of receiving winter tourists as well,” said chief executive officer of Bhadarwah Development Authority Rajinder Prasad Khajuria.

This summer, Bhadarwah received 5 lakh tourists, a record, from May to mid August.
