Thousands participate in annual Urs of Shah Mohammad Farid-Ud-Din RA

A large number of devotees from across the state and outside today paid obeisance at Hazarat Shah Mohammad Farid-Ud-Din Shrine on the occasion of annual urs.

The devotees, in large numbers, started gathering at the shrine since early morning to pay their obeisance.

   

The urs of Shah Mohammad Farid -Ud- Din is observed every year on 7th Har, usually falling on June 20th or 21st.

 On the occasion, the caretakers of the shrine of sufi saint displayed the personal belongings of Shah Mohammad Farid -Ud- Din including sword, clothes and stick used by Shah Sahib during his life.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar has also made free boarding and lodging arrangements for the pilgrims at Baitul Zaireen at Hidyal Chowk Kishtwar. 

The district administration, in collaboration with the Auqaf Islamia, also made elaborate arrangements for the peaceful and hassle free celebrations of the annual Urs.

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana, has asked all the line departments to work in coordination and make available adequate facilities.

He called for adequate transport, proper management of the traffic, provision for safe drinking water, sanitation and uninterrupted power supply, besides maintenance of cleanliness in the town in general and around the shrine in particular.

The municipal committee has also given a facelift to the township and launched a cleanliness drive.
