Five dead, one injured as cab plunges into stream in J&K’s Ramban

Banihal June 5: Five passengers were killed and another injured after the cab they were on board plunged into Bishleri stream at Digdol in J&K’s Ramban district Saturday, officials said.

The officials told Greater Kashmir that the cab bearing registration no JK02BA 1707 was on way to Jammu when it met with the accident at about 0930 hrs this morning.

   

Soon after, a rescue team comprising Army, police and local QRT swung into action and was able to retrieve the bodies of which five died.

The sixth passenger, Ajeet Kumar son of Kuldeep Kumar of Billawar IRP 3rdBn was injured in the accident.

The deceased were identified by officials as Garu Ram son of Hans Raj, a resident of Talab Tillo, Jammu, Vaneet Kour daughter of JP Singh of Gupkar Srinagar, Shagun Kumar of Kangra, a head constable of 73bn CRPF, Mohammad Rafi, son of Lal jd Din Gujjar of Balkot Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and Sanjeev Kumar, son of Rikhi Ram, a follower of IRP 16th BN, a resident of Mari Poni village of Reasi district.
