Two boys drown in Chenab river in Ramban in Jammu and Kashmir

Two teenagers drowned in Chenab river in Ramsu area of Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, reports said.

Quoting Station House Officer (SHO) Ramban, Javid Iqbal, news agency GNS reported that Abid Ahmad Manhas (15) son of Mushtaq Ahmad Manhas and Towqeer Ahmad Manhas (15) son of Rafiq Ahmad Manhas slipped into the river near Magerkote area of Ramsu.

Soon after receiving the information, police immediately rushed to the spot and launched searches, SHO said.

While the body of Abid has been retrieved, searches are underway to trace out the body of Towqeer, he said.

Reports said the boys, who were reportedly cousins, and were returning home from a nearby playground.
