All areas including main towns of this hilly district are facing unprecedented power crisis, causing huge inconvenience to people, reports said on Wednesday.
Locals said since the onset of winter this year, the Power Development Department has started resorting to unscheduled power cuts especially during mornings and evenings.
"This district is facing worst and unprecedented power crisis due to which business activities are going down every day," a local businessman said.
People said they face more than 11-hour cuts.
"The PDD does not bother about students who are appearing in examinations but can't prepare in absence of electricity," a group of locals said.
On the other hand, Engineers of the PDD are passing buck on consumers, alleging "they are using boilers and geysers and other equipments at a time when we have less production and more consumption of electricity.
