Residents of many areas of Kishtwar town have complained of unscheduled power cuts. The areas include Malipeth, Gudhali, Pochhal, Sanghrambhata ,Hidyal, Lackhkhazana, Main Nazar Kishtwar, Palmar, Mughalmaidan, Chatroo, Trigham and far flung areas including Nagsini, Padder, Saroor and Sarthal.
The residents said that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to supply uninterrupted power to the inhabitants. They said that day and night the curtailment system has created problem in the areas. Nowadays, the temperature is rising even in Chenab Valley and the night curtailment cuses lot of inconvenience, they lamented.
"We do not receive proper power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily affair now," the locals of Kishtwar town said.
Nothing has changed in the district even the town area public have suffered a lot due to power curtailment, said a local villagers . Students are also worst hit, as they couldn't study after dusk.
"Our exams are going on and power curtailment has added to our woes," a group of school going children's.
Though, Kishtwar administration has already directed all officers to ensure all facilities to people during this chilly season but PDD is turning a deaf ear, thay alleged.
