The district development commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, on Monday asked the families affected by Pakal Dul hydroelectric power plant, who have received full compensation, to vacate their residential structures within a week.
The DDC visited Dangdooru area of Dachhan, where work of Pakal Dul HEP is going on. He took a detailed meeting with the officers of the contractor company in presence of the project-affected families and other senior people of the area.
During the interaction, the DDC asked the project-affected families, who till date have not vacated their residential structures despite receiving full compensation, to vacate the same within a week or else face action, in order to ensure that the project does not suffer.
Further, the residents of the area demanded the opening of a school at Dangdooru, Dachhan, which was previously running at Seeurbhati. “Since the old school was acquired under the project, it is a necessity to shift it near Dangdooru, so that students do not suffer,” the residents told the DDC.
Rana passed immediate directions to chief education officer, Kishtwar to ensure that a school is opened at Dangdooru before March 1, 2019.
The DDC also directed the executive engineer, PHE, to ensure that the shortage of drinking water is solved.
