3 houses gutted in Alochi Bagh blaze

Srinagar, Nov 7: At least three houses were gutted in a fire incident at Alochi Bagh area in a late-night blaze on Monday.

Officials of the Fire and Emergency department said the fire incident took place at around 11 pm on Monday.

   

The officials said that the fire started from one of the houses, which spread to adjacent houses of the locality. They said fire tenders from multiple fire stations were pressed into service to douse fire.

“We rushed multiple fire tenders from Headquarters, Gaw Kadal, and Rawalpora fire stations to douse off the flames. Three houses were gutted in the incident while two other houses were partially damaged,” said an official.

The fire victims said that they have lost all their belongings in the incident and demanded immediate help from government and local organisations.

“All our belongings, including cash and jewelry were gutted. We tried our best to douse off the flames, but we couldn’t save anything. We appeal to the government to provide us assistance” Showkat Ahmad, one of the fire victims, said.
