‘Aesthetic beauty of Hazratbal shrine to be enhanced’

Srinagar, Mar 6: Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today said the integrated developmental project will enhance infrastructure and aesthetics of Hazratbal Shrine.

“Enhancements, including improved sanitation, tile repairs, and introduction of amenities like parking areas and fountains, all of which have significantly enhanced infrastructure and accessibility of the shrine. These developments were carried out under the PRASAD scheme,” Andrabi told Greater Kashmir.

   

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to virtually inaugurate the integrated development project of Hazratbal Shrine on Thursday.

Officials said the inauguration will take place alongside other multiple projects from Bakshi Stadium.

The Hazratbal Shrine has undergone substantial improvements under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD).

Under the project ‘Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine’, the entire area including the construction of the boundary wall of the shrine, Illumination of Hazratbal shrines Precinct, Improvement of Ghats and Devri Paths around the Shrine, construction of Sufi interpretation centre; construction of Tourist Facilitation Centre; Installation of Signages; Multilevel Storied Car parking; Construction of Public Convenience Block and entrance Gateway of the Shrine; among others were taken up.

The development initiative has seen the transformation of Hazratbal Shrine, with the addition of modern amenities aimed at improving the pilgrimage experience for devotees.
