Waterlogging in premises of RTO at Bemina irks visitors

Srinagar, Mar 15: Visitors to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) at Bemina locality here have expressed resentment against waterlogging of its entrance and compound.

A delegation of vehicle owners said they face problems visiting the new RTO at Bemina which was shifted recently due to waterlogging in its compound.

“Compound of the RTO usually remains waterlogged. This hampers the movement of visitors and prevents the parking of cars. This gives a shabby look to the new building,” said Farooq Ahmad, a visitor.

Others visiting the office also appealed to the officials about streamlining the processes at the RTO.

RTO Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, said that they just shifted to this new place, and everything will be addressed.

“The waterlogging issue will be addressed as well as we have made DPR for the project to elevate that space. We decided to shift to the new building for convenience and good of people. While operating from the new building, we will address all the issues,” Bukhari said.
