Today, the face of Kashmir valley is getting changed due to various reasons like the young and present generation of valley taking interests in business sector. We have dedicated youth who are generating employment for the thousands of unemployed youth in valley for last couple of decades. In past we had wrong perception that acquiring education can make us rich, provide us government job, and ensure us handsome earnings. In fact this perception is not bad, but today we have quite different perceptions regarding our future. We can make our future great in all respects and government job is not the single solution. First of all we have to prefer the field we are interested in like business, sports etc. No profession is small or big your interest and level of dedication decides and make your dreams true.
I have met various people who are at higher levels in government and in private sector but I have noticed that they are not satisfied and. Lack of interest always makes your job a burden for you and pushes you towards destruction. Your interest in something which makes your job great and changes your fate within very little time. There are people who have given decades but still far away from their life goals and at the same time there are people who are quite satisfied with what they have achieved.
I have seen on Facebook that some efficient and dedicated youth were performing the job of commentators during a live match which was played between two semi-finalist teams. I got very impressed that how the youth of valley are showing their interest in sports activities and promoting sports activities like football, cricket, volley, and cycling. One thing is very clear; cricket is one of the most loved games in our country. In every corner of the valley cricket is played. In even remote areas of valley I have seen youths enjoying their favourite game. During last couple of years government at all levels tries to provide sports grounds, kits, and other facilities.
How can we generate employment in sports filed in the valley?
One thing is quite fortunate that youths are taking interest and like to engage in sports as players, as umpires, as ground staff, as organisers and as a commentators. So government can generate employment by introducing post in sports field like academies for those who want to take different positions like commentary, umpiring, organising. So administration can promote sports activities at village level in a very effective and beneficial way. It’s not true that some people say cricket has no future because only 11 players are supposed to represent their country, and the chances are rare. For those I am suggesting that sports field has great potential of generating employment and at the same time sports sector has the potential to take our youth away from unlawful activities.
