The school education department has come with 'classroom at your home' initiative for students amid the ongoing COVID19 lockdown.
The initiative has been taken in order to engage students incurriculum-based studies as educational institutions continue to remain closed.
Under the initiative, the department has taken manystudent-friendly measures to disseminate education through online mode orthrough other digital or electronic platforms.
Director school education Kashmir (DSEK) Muhammad YounisMalik said they were trying to keep curriculum based content available at theclick of the button for students.
"On air classes are telecasted at DD Kashmir channel ondaily basis for elementary and secondary level students. Tele classes are alsotelecasted on local cable channels on SEN channel and a local television," saidthe director.
Also, around 350 video lectures of short duration are alsoavailable at the DSEK website (www.dsek.nic.in) under AawoPadhe initiative.
"The video lectures are available for students from class 1to class 12 for all subjects. The Youtube links of the same are also availableon www.siekashmir.in website," he said.
He said the classes were being delivered on SwayamPrabhachannels of MHRD besides Airtel TV, Tata Sky and Dish TV channels.
"Audio classes of two-hour duration are broadcasted on RadioMirchi on daily basis at 2pm for class 9 to 12 students," said the director.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor (LG), K K Sharma who headsthe education department in J&K said the directorates in Kashmir and Jammuwere working to reach out to the students and disseminate education throughdifferent digital platforms.
"But all these initiatives will serve the purpose and becomesuccessful if parents extend their cooperation to the school teachers. I appealthe parents of the students to cooperate with the teachers," Sharma said.
