Article 35A sub judice, everyone has to accept court verdict: BJP

Senior BJP leader Sofi Muhammad Yousuf today asked the people not to give heed to the "propaganda" by mainstream parties including the National Conference and the PDP over Article 35A issue. "The matter is sub judice and whatever the decision by the Supreme Court, everybody will have to abide by it," he said.

Addressing a press conference here, Yousuf said that of latethe NC and the PDP have launched a "malicious campaign" against the BJP linkingit with the issue of Article 35A. "The fact remains that the BJP has nothing todo with Article 35A. The matter is sub judice and whatever the decision the SCwill give, everybody has to abide by it," he said.

Training his guns at former CM Mehbooba Mufti, the BJPleader said the PDP had a history of bringing additional forces to Kashmir."When late Mufti Muhammad Sayed was the Chief Minister, a large contingent ofsecurity forces were brought in to Kashmir," he said, adding that the PDPshould refrain from talking about deployment of additional forces in Kashmirand linking the Article 35A issue with the BJP.

The BJP leader said that forces arrival in Kashmir was aroutine affair. "When the municipal elections were held, additional forces werebrought in and also when Panchayat polls were held in the State," Yousuf said,and asked Mehbooba Mufti not to take up the issues of 35A at a time when annualAmarnath Yatra is in a full swing.

"Local Muslims are facilitating the Amarnath Yatra andpilgrims are performing their pilgrimage in a peaceful manner. I requestMehboobaji not to link article 35A issue with the BJP," he said.

He also took a dig at the former CM Omar Abdullah for takingto twitter to "write against Governor Satya Pal Malik".

Yousuf said the BJP was "flourishing" in Kashmir and underits regime the Valley will witness massive development and a new era of peace.
