Team checking for COVID 19 probable pelted with stones in Bandipora

Members of a medical team from Health department and Rapid Response Force (RSF) were pelted with stones in Guroora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday after they tried to inquire about a probale coronavirus patient.

According to eyewitnesses, members of Health department andRSF came under heavy attack from the people of the area after they tried toinquire about a patient with suspected Coronovirus symptoms.

   

As per the reports, the team had received inputs thatsomeone from the area had got in touch with a recent COVID-19 positive personfrom Gund-Dechina and was now showing COVID-19 infection symptoms.

“No sooner, did the medical team started inquiring about thesuspected person, people rained stones on them from their rooftops and thevisitors made the dash from the place, said the eyewitnesses.

Station House Officer(SHO) Aragam, Javid Ahamad, said that aman from the area was to be taken for medical tests, but his family membersstarted opposing.

He further said that a case under relevant sections has beenregistered in the police station Argam and investigation has been started.
