Srinagar, Mar 28:  The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Thursday released revised date sheets for the annual regular examinations 2023-24 for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in hard zone areas.

The decision comes amid changes in the scheduled timings with exams now being conducted in two shifts.

According to the revised schedule, the class 10th annual regular (hard zone) examination would commence on April 4, 2024, at 10 am (morning shift) while the class 12th (hard zone) examination would begin on April 8, 2024, at 2 pm (evening shift).

Additionally, the class 11th examination for soft zone areas has been rescheduled to April 2, 2024, at 1 pm while the hard zone areas will commence their class 11th examination on April 22, 2024, at 10 am.

“The change in the examination schedule was necessitated due to a communiqué from the Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, regarding the schedule for the Lok Sabha election 2024,” Director Academics BOSE said in a notification.

The BOSE has said that a communication from the National Testing Agency (NTA) concerning the conduct of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024 session from April 4 to April 15, 2024, and numerous representations were received from students requesting the rescheduling of BOSE exams.

The notification said that the previously issued date sheets for the examinations of these classes and zones should be treated as cancelled.

All stakeholders, including principals, overall incharges, superintendents, exam staff, students, and parents have been advised to carefully adhere to the revised schedule.

“Teachers are urged to appropriately inform their students about the revised dates and timings to avoid any confusion, ensuring that examinees reach the examination centres on the correct day and time. The overall incharges should ensure that the right question paper is opened at the right centre and on the right day and time,” the notification reads.

The notification said that the sub-branch officers of BOSE would be specially responsible for disseminating the revised examination schedule for hard zone areas.

“In case of any confusion or queries, stakeholders can contact the nearest BOSE office or the BOSE helpline numbers 0191-2953195, 0194-3113091 or reach out to Joint Secretary Exam JD on phone number 9419144203 or the Joint Secretary Kashmir on phone number 8493831545,” the notification reads.

Meanwhile, the J&K State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) also issued a revised date sheet for the Middle Standard Examination (MSE) for soft and hard zones of session 2023-24.

As per the revised date sheet, the examination in both soft and hard zones would commence on April 2 and culminate on April 15, 2024.

“The timing has been preponed from 11 am to 10 am for commencement of the MSE 2023-24. The students have been advised to take their examination at the already notified examination centres on the scheduled dates well in time,” the notification reads.

The candidates have been advised to carry admit cards on all days of the examination for verification.

“The Complex Heads should ensure that all the SOPs for the conduct of examination are followed in letter and spirit,” the notification reads.
