Srinagar, Apr 30: The Faculty and staff of the Govt. Dental College & Hospital accorded a grand farewell to Prof Riyaz Farooq, outgoing Principal of the institution in the college auditorium.
Prof Dr. Riyaz Farooq superannuated from his active service career today after putting nearly 35 years of service in the said institution. On the occasion various faculty and staff of the institution lauded the tremendous contribution of the outgoing Principal for the institution.
Prof (Dr) Aijaz Ahmad Shah, HOD of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the institution spoke on this occasion and appreciated the efforts of the outgoing principal for the progress of this institution.
Dr Shabir Ahmad Shah, HOD Dental Material and Medical Superintendent of the said institution enumerated in detail the contributions of the outgoing Principal for the institution, both on the academic front and on the infrastructure development front.
On the occasion Prof Shabir A Shah mentioned that it was a result of dedicated and hard work of the outgoing principal only, that resulted in the start of post-graduation in the institution 15 years ago. Prof Shah wished the outgoing principal a very happy, healthy and prosperous post retirement life.
Prof. Dr Sandeep Kour, Prof Dr. Mohammad Mushtaq, Prof. Dr. Aamir Rashid, Dr. Asim Farooq, Dr. Ashiq Ali, Dr Altaf, Dr. Mansoor, Javeed Rasool Shawl were the other speakers who spoke on the said occasion and all the speakers lauded the extraordinary contributions of the outgoing Principal since last two decades for making the said institution one of the best Dental Colleges of the country.
On the occasion the outgoing Principal, Prof Riyaz wished the institution best of luck in future and also acknowledged the fact that the progress of the institution till date would not had been possible without the support of the HODs, faculty and the staff of the institution and individually thanked all the staff of the institution which were present on the said occasion.
