KU introduces Single Window Clearance System for student services

Srinagar, May 7: The Kashmir University (KU) has introduced a state-of-the-art Single Window Clearance System (SWCS) at the examination department of the main campus which is aimed at enhancing student convenience and efficiency.

The facility was inaugurated by KU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofar Khan on Tuesday.

   

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the facility, Prof. Nilofer Khan stated that the SWCS promises to streamline and expedite various student-related services and grievance redressal processes under one roof.

“The newly established system features distinct counters manned by designated personnel to cater to a wide array of student needs. These counters encompass services ranging from degree issuance to transcript processing, from undergraduate result inquiries to medical and engineering certificate provisions,” she said.

Additionally, there are dedicated counters for postgraduate matters and administrative concerns, ensuring comprehensive support for students across different academic domains.

KU VC while speaking initiative said that the new facility will have its transformative impact on student experiences.

“This is a unique facility for our students. I am fully confident that students will benefit greatly from this streamlined approach,” she said.

Earlier, students had to endure long queues under varying weather conditions, but now, with a waiting room and token system in place, their interactions with the system will be swift and hassle-free.

“The whole system will be monitored and supervised by the controller examination to ensure prompt resolution of student issues,” she said.

The Single Window Clearance System represents a modernised approach towards student services, offering amenities such as document scanning facilities and water dispensers for added convenience.

“The examination system is undergoing technological advancements, aligning with contemporary educational trends. So this SWCS is just a beginning,” she said.

Controller Examinations KU, Dr. Majid Zamaan while briefing about the new facility said the basic feature of the system is its inclusivity and comfort for students.

“We have established this centralised facility as a comfortable zone for students. No longer will students have to endure outdoor waits in adverse weather conditions. Everything they need, whether it is result queries, document requests, or registration issues, will be efficiently managed within this consolidated setup,” Dr Majid Zamaan said.

Controller examination further states that the introduction of this comprehensive system marks a significant step towards enhancing the overall student experience at Kashmir University.

“It will set a new standard for streamlined and student-centric operations here. All the issues of the students will be resolved within one roof. We will close the separate window systems from now,” Dr Zamaan said.
