148 persons discharged from quarantine

A group of 148 persons including students and other travellers of different districts across Kashmir were sent to their homes on Monday after completing 14 days quarantine period.

Additional DC Srinagar Syed Hanief Balkhi, who looks overall quarantine facilities in Srinagar said the group of 148 people was directlyshifted to quarantine centre from Srinagar Airport on March 25 after theyreturned from outside states and foreign countries.

   

They were allowed to go home after they tested negative forCovid-19 after completing quarantine period.

“All arrangements were in place. We are thankful toadministration for taking care and acting in the interest of our health and thehealth of our families and community,” said one of the persons who wasdischarged today.

So far 1713 people with travel history have been allowedhome after 14 days quarantine.

Contacts of COVID positive cases quarantine:

As many as 134 contacts of positive cases, under quarantinefor possible exposure to COVID-19, have tested negative.

Out of these, 95 individuals have been discharged aftercompleting necessary 14 day quarantine period.

Around 279 persons are under quarantine at two quarantinecentres in Srinagar. These 279 comprise family members of COIVD-19 positivecases and their other contacts.

“Among them, there are 80 persons whose tests have been donebut reports are awaited,” said Balkhi.

He informed that in some cases there are also persons whosetested have came negative but are yet to complete necessary 14 days quarantineperiod. They would be discharge on completion of this protocol.
