669 persons under surveillance in J&K: Govt

The J&K administration Monday said that till date 669 persons who have come in contact with suspected coronavirus cases have been put under surveillance.

“Of them, 460 are in Home Quarantine (including 20 atYatriBhawan, Jammu), 8 in Hospital Quarantine, 55 in home surveillance, 146completed their 28 days surveillance period. As many as 55 samples have beensent for testing, 26 negative, 1 tested positive, 28 reports are awaited,” anofficial spokesman said.

   

“UT of J&K has strengthened the Surveillance and Controlmeasures against the disease. Helpline nos: +91-0191-2549676 (UT level Cell forJ&K), +91-0191-2520982 (For Jammu Division), +91-0194-2440283 (For KashmirDivision) are functional.

“Universal self-declaration has been made mandatory w.e.f.4th of March 2020 at Jammu/ Srinagar airports. Screening of travellers startedat Lakhanpur and Lower Munda toll posts as well as Jammu, Katra and UdhampurRailway stations, where Health Help Desks have been set up. Team of doctors andparamedical staff deployed, who are screening the passengers throughNon-contact Thermal Scanners,” he said.”As nCoV (Covid-19) has no definite treatment,so prevention is best. Accordingly wide publicity is being done to createawareness in the community through health education messages especially on handwashing, cough etiquette and home isolation by electronic, print media, radiojingles and leaflets etc,” the spokesman said.
