7 more micro-containment zones declared in Baramulla

Baramulla, Dec 3: The Baramulla administration on Friday declared seven more areas as micro-containment zones. With seven more designated containment zones, the number of micro-containment zones across Baramulla district has reached 21.

As per order, five areas in Uri area had been designated as micro-containment zones which include, Jabla, Paranpilla, Nambla, Pringal and Noorkhah. The other two areas are Badambagh Sopore and Katibugh Kunzar in Tangmarg area of the district.

   

The administration has asked the people of these areas to contact 0152-234343 and 7006493646 telephone numbers in case any medical emergency arises.

Following the order, there will be complete restrictions in the containment zones. The restrictions include complete lockdown and tight perimeter control except for essential needs. Besides, movement of the people in and out in the containment zones had been completely barred.

The authorities have also made testing and vaccination mandatory for the residents of the containment zones and those who don’t follow the order shall invite action including lodging of FIR under relevant provision of Disaster Management Act, officials said.

Earlier, Baramulla administration had declared 14 areas across the district as containment zones after several positive cases were detected.

Apart from 21 areas being declared as containment zones, the Baramulla administration had also declared Kashmir University north campus as micro -containment zone after 23 students at the campus tested positive during a Rapid Antigen Test and vaccination drive.
